Standard vs Ultimate: What's Actually Different

There are two editions of GTA 6 at Australian launch. Here is what separates them.

Standard Edition ($129.95 AUD)

The Standard Edition is the full game. You get both protagonists — Jason and Lucia — the complete map of Leonida and Vice City, every core gameplay mechanic, and access to GTA Online when it launches.

Nothing in the Standard Edition is locked behind an upgrade. This is the whole game.

Ultimate Edition ($159.95 AUD)

The Ultimate Edition adds bonus content on top of everything in Standard. Rockstar describes it as "premium vehicles, weapons, apparel, and action threaded across all aspects of Jason and Lucia's story."

The specific items have not yet been officially itemised by Rockstar. This page will be updated once the full confirmed list is published.

The $30 question

The difference is $30 at most retailers. Whether that is worth it depends on what the Ultimate Edition actually contains — which is not yet fully confirmed. If you are planning to preorder before that information is public, Standard Edition is the lower-risk choice. If you want the bonus content regardless, Ultimate Edition is available from PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, and EB Games.

What about the preorder bonus?

Any edition preordered before 20 November 2026 includes the Vintage Vice City Pack — retro 1980s-themed outfits for Jason and Lucia. Digital preorders also include one month of GTA+.

The preorder bonus applies to both editions equally.
